OpenOffice 2.0 now available for Mac

OpenOffice logoIt's only a few days late, and it's not quite the final version (it's RC3), but a relatively stable version of OpenOffice.org 2.0 is now available for Mac users. While this is still an X11-based version, it does away with the cumbersome installer used in earlier versions, and replaces it with a one-click application package. As long as you've got X11 installed on your Mac, you should be able to drag the app to the location of your choice, double-click it, and have an X11 session open, followed by OpenOffice. TUAW speculates that this might be the last X11 version, given OO.o's recent announcement that they're going to go native on the Mac, but I won't be surprised to see a few more builds of this one before they get the native release out the door.
