Flock preview now available
Ready to try Flock, the Mozilla-based social browser? You can now download a developer's preview
and give it a spin. The alpha (excuse me, developer's preview) runs on
Mac, Windows and Linux, and seems relatively stable. It has built-in
blogging, flickr and del.icio.us posting tools, and allows one-click
tagging of web sites. Since the public bookmarking function
is built on del.icio.us, there's already a huge potential Flock
community out there. If you have a blog, regularly use flickr or save your bookmarks on del.icio.us, Flock may be just the thing for you; it even supports some key Firefox extensions, including Adblock and Greasemonkey. It may not become your default browser, but Flock
is definitely worth a try (even if you're not a developer!).
I don't know if this is a labor of love or merely the brainchild of four very gifted games designers, but Level Up is a really weird mash-up of gaming elements that you have probably never seen in a Flash game before.
Let's start with the premise itself: Groundhog Day meets Memento. The game experience revolves around 'days': you explore the world and the clock slowly ticks towards the evening. I've been enjoying Flock for a while. Really nice, fast -rendering browser. It also supports nearly ALL Firefox extensions with some modification to the extension, which I conveniently made easy with my little app I made: http://frobba.com/main.asp?article=230
