Maxivista, yet another screen sharing app

On a Command N vidcast I was watching today they mentioned a display/PC sharing app for Windows by the name of Maxivista. This handy solution can turn spare PC's into extra monitors for a primary PC, as well as act as a K/M switch or a screen cloner. It looks like a pretty flexible app, and there's quite a bit of support and a large FAQ section to get you started.
There is a 14 day, feature-limited demo available, and it appears as of this writing that the app is on sale for $30, down from its typical price of $50.
So, just how good at time waster games are you? Think you've got the stuff? Well, The World's Hardest Game 2.0 doesn't think you do.
Yes, amazingly, it's possible to have a sequel to a game called "The World's Hardest Game". It doesn't seem logically possible, since if the first one was actually the world's hardest, how could another one come along and share the moniker? It made me doubt the name in the first place. "Yet another screen sharing app"--what other app does what Maxivista does? I use Maxivista, but it's not perfect, so I'd love to check out an alternative. I'm not aware of any, though.
Maxivista is NOT remote control software, it lets other computers act as a second (or third or forth) monitor by sending video driver commands across the network.

Synergy kinda does the same thing. It basically allows you to use the mouse,keyboard on 2 computers like a KVM and the only thing you need to do to switch to the alternate computer is move your mouse to the side of the screen.
Sort of the same... other than the seperate screens belong to seperate computers.

I've used Synergy, and it's totally different. You can't drag a window from one monitor to another with Synergy, and you can with Maxivista.
Synergy is K(notV)M software. Maxivista adds another monitor. Totally different products.

thats what I meant by "kinda" the same and that the seperate monitors belonged to seperate computers.
