Taco HTML Edit, a free HTML editor for OS X

tacohtmlWhenever I need a decent HTML editor without all the fancy doodads and buttons, I use Taco HTML Edit. Maybe I have a hankering for Tex-Mex. Maybe I'm a creature of habit. Either way, I never developed a taste for TextWrangler, and I've tried, really I have, for years to use it properly... Taco just works better IMO. Type your text, preview in a browser, bingo.

What's not to like? It's free, starts up with head and body tags setup (transitional HTML 4, but you can do others), has some quick tags, and the text is nice and big and multicolored. Perfect for the slow-witted and numb-fingered folks like me. I probably use Taco every day for quick fixes. Since the TextEdit app on the Mac doesn't seem to understand that yes, sometimes all I want is a simple text editor. No WYSIWYG for me.

So Taco came to my rescue again tonight. I was away from my usual machine. I had to edit some HTML. I copied and pasted the old code into TextEdit. Hey, it rendered my text! That's a cool feature, but not at all what I wanted. At this point, I could not convert to plain text. I would have had to switch before I copied and pasted. Bah! A quick trip to the download site and I was on my way. Simple, useful, and often updated. I know everyone has their favorite HTML editor, so feel free to bust my chops if you hate Taco.

In Graveyard Shift, you take aim at zombies and other creepy-crawlies, blasting them into splatters of cartoony green guts. It's a casual first-person shooter, and it's very easy to get the hang of - use the mouse to aim, click to fire. Graveyard Shift has at least 15 levels, and it might even have some secret stages I haven't unlocked yet. They key to getting good at Graveyard Shift is learning to use ...
