Harry Potter 6 already available in unauthorized e-book format
A scant 12 hours after being released in stores, fans have gone after J.K. Rowling's new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince tome wielding OCR software and released a pirated e-book version of the novel. Part of the impetus seems to be the fact that Rowling herself has been against releasing an official version of number six in the Potter series for e-book readers out of fear of piracy, a strategy which appears to have, well, backfired. The book has now been scanned and proofread, and is available in TXT and HTML formats on web servers across the world.

The audio book is already out on the web as well. She's still richer than the queen.

The PDF you found a month ago was a fake. The guy does it every time JK Rowling writes a new book, and releases it a month or so before the real one comes out. Hey, great buzz for him, but they're absolutely terrible.
The PDF versions of the actual book started trickling out the morning after the release of the book to stores, so I'd say they did a pretty good job of keeping things quiet.
