Shiira niche-in-a-niche web browser updated
Got a Mac but Safari doesn't "do it" for you? All those Firefox extensions weighing you down? Does even Camino seem anemic? Give Shiira a try, it's the lightest little browser in town for OSX and it graduated to 1.1 today. The best part of this update is the return of support for Panther. Pre-v.1 releases worked, then 1 didn't. Now Panther is supported again. This is nice for me, as my backup iBook (soon to be called into service for yet another issue with my primary iBook) is an old 500 MHz G3. I am so not putting Tiger on there.
Perhaps the coolest feature in Shiira is the Tab Exposé. Sometimes in Safari there's that question: to tab or not? If you dig 1.1 you shoud definatly get the latest build 1.1 build(0731), there are so many in inhancements my favorites include added rss in either HTML or Quartz RSS and the super improved page transition effect that has a much more realistic look (be sure to quit Shiira after enabeling this option).
This is one slick (unified aqua theme), snappy, techno wetdream.
